the maryland renaissance festival has been an annual tradition here for as long as i can remember. my dad used to take us when we were kids and i remember feeling like i really did go back in time. known for its ginormous turkey legs and patrons dressed in period costumes, the renaissance festival is a must-do for any marylander.
this weekend, i went with boo and bestie, and we had a ball! we drank bee stings (honeysuckle mead and cider beer), we ate various foods on sticks, we cheered at a jousting match, and took in a show. we perused vendors, bought gemstones, and got faces painted, partook in a battle of wits between thespians, and dunked a sea wench. truly a great time! if you are local to maryland, dc or virginia, you must check it out before it leaves in october. i wouldn’t be surprised if we go back again.
